Thank you so much to the International Color Awards for my 3rd place finish and Honor of Distinction in Sports for my “Reining, the Slide” image. Thanks also for the honorable mention in Silhouette and two other nominations, in Fashion and Abstract.
I have entered this competition for the last three years, since I became a professional photographer, and have received at least one nomination every year. It is very encouraging to participate in a huge international competition and have my images selected by these accomplished judges! I am so grateful and inspired to be placing in this competition alongside such amazing images.
9th: Honor of Distinction and 3rd place (Sports)
Honorable Mention (Silhouette)
three Nominations (two in Fashion and 1 in Abstract)
8th: Dual Nominee (People/Storytelling, Silhouette)
7th: Honorable Mention (Fine Art)
two Nominations (Fine Art, Editorial)
Here are my nominated images this year:
This image of the Vancouver Skytrain tunnels “Skytrain Tunnel II” is part of my Skytrain series. It was selected to represent Canada for the World Photographic Cup in the Commercial category. “Skytrain Tunnel II” also received an Award of Distinction by Master Photographers International (MPIO) and an Award of Merit by the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC) as well as being part of the collection to win the Fine Art Photographer of the Year.
These fashion images are part of James Valiant’s hair designs for the Canadian hairdressing awards, where it was a finalist for Canadian Hairdresser of the Year. I have never entered the following image, “Neon Hair” in a competition but I thought it looked cool and tried it here.
“Metamorphosis” was entered in both the PPOC-BC and MPIO salons. An unedited version won Best in Class Fashion and an Award of Distinction from MPIO. I then edited it and entered the new version in the PPOC-BC salon where it was awarded a Merit and also won Best Fashion Image.
